Your search for steeper vs. cheaper returned 17 result(s).

Here in Chicago we are still in the almost-winter season, but the winter season keeps stepping on our heels.
Sweaters are my second skin when cold weather arrives, but we all know they have a stigma. You can’t find a good sweater without forking over a little extra cash — can you?
You can. The cardigan sweater coat on the left will cost you $325 at Piperlime.com, or you can snag the cable-knit sweater coat on the right for just $24 from Kohls.
The sweater coat trend would make a perfect gift for your old roommate, your little sister, or even your favorite co-worker.
Here are a few more wallet-friendly finds:
1. Cable-knit tie-front cardigan — Old Navy, $36.502. Double-breasted cardigan — Forever 21, $27.803. Toggle cardigan — JCPenney, $29.994. Button-front cardigan — Wet Seal, $24.505. Tie Heather sweater — Charlotte Russe, $34.99
Now go forth and be warm (and cute)!

Jenny from nyminute found this great Steeper vs. Cheaper comparison that I couldn’t help but share. Great find!

I came across these dolce vita flats while browsing at Shoegasm the other day. Only a couple weeks before I had picked up almost the exact same pair at Old Navy for a fraction of the cost, and actually have been impressed with how comfortable they are. Obviously, I was very excited about the budget find.
(Note: The Old Navy version are now on sale for $9.99 - $14.99 and available in several colors.)

I saw this ring yesterday on Jackie’s blog, and I couldn’t believe my eyes. I’d seen this exact same ring elsewhere just days earlier, but with a much smaller price tag. This ring is irresistibly adorable and so with that, I bring you the next edition of Steeper vs. Cheaper.

You can find the top two rings at Delight.com for $198.50 — who would pay that? — or you can steal either of the bottom two rings (or both with this price tag!) for just $54 from fredflare.com.

Added bonus? Use discount code PREVIEW to save 30% off your fredflare.com purchase by Nov. 16! And with the discount, the ring would cost you less than $40.

‘Tis the season to be shopping — at least that’s how I rationalize it.

Can you take a guess at which shoe is more expensive?
The iconic black, patent, platform pump from Yves Saint Laurent is one I’ve been lusting after — but refusing its price tag.
The shoe on the left is the real YSL which sells for $795 at Nieman Marcus. The ones on the right, with only a slight difference in stiletto shape, but not height, are a steal at $69.90 on eBay with free shipping.
The real battle here isn’t over money — it’s over walking. Both shoes have over five inch heels!

Jackie found a pair of cute flats at Payless that look identical to ones at Banana Republic (and they come in black, too) but for $75 cheaper.
Thanks for sharing this great Steeper vs. Cheaper!

As promised, my “Steeper vs. Cheaper” feature returns!

Long, black Boyfriend-style blazers are every girl’s staple for fall. Throw it on with a tank top and you’re instantly warm, but still cute. Throw it on over a gray T-shirt and now you can even wear it to the office.

The Norma Kamali for Walmart Boyfriend Jacket on the left is a steal at $20, while the nearly identical blazer on the right from Urban Outfitters is almost $80.

I bought the Norma Kamali version last weekend and I love how long it is. I plan on rolling up the sleeves and throwing it on over a basic tee with skinny jeans and black patent pumps.

Want an even cheaper version? Steal your guy’s old one — they don’t call it the “Boyfriend Jacket” for nothing.

My “Steeper vs. Cheaper” feature will be back soon. I promise!
thecooknook:

Master of designer copycats inspired shoes does it again. These Alexander McQueen skull booties are totally bad to the bone awesome. But they are almost sold out everywhere, and at $995, they come with an equally awesome price tag. Mr. Madden’s version lacks the skull zipper pull but comes in at a cool $129.95 and is currently available (in all sizes) for pre-order.

Twitter this, blog that

I just wanted to point out a few new features on my blog. Take a look at my left-hand side bar and there you’ll find the infamous Twitter feed.

After warily joining Twitter, I found myself not using it very much. But now that I’ve added the feed right to my blog, it makes it much easier to access all my updates on one page and I’ve started updating more frequently. Fellow Twitterers can simply click “Follow” at the top right of the feed. Just make sure you have Adobe Flash Player so you can see my witty banter in 140 characters or less.

I also added a search box in the left-hand sidebar. So if you want to see every “Steeper vs. Cheaper” post I’ve made, just search it and the results will pull them all up on one page.

One more addition. I added a banner at the bottom of my blog to help support and campaign for the Share Our Strength Great American Bake Sale, a national effort that encourages Americans to host bake sales in their communities to help end childhood hunger. If you dig the cause, add a banner or a widget to your site, too.

I’m currently working on linking to Facebook, but what other features does my blog need?

Steeper vs. cheaper: Nude Pumps

Nude pumps

Every woman should own a pair of nude-colored pumps. Hello — they make your legs look longer!

They are so versatile with spring and summer looks. Wear with a floral sundress for fresh fashion, or pair with vibrant shades of aqua, coral or yellow and complete any look.

One quick turn on your heels and that infamous flash of red could make any woman jealous, but spending an entire paycheck on one pair of shoes is completely uncool these days. Ditch the Christian Louboutins (shoes at left, $769) and go for something equally hot, like these Dolce Vita pumps, that don’t break the bank (shoes at right, $136).

Go wild, go nude!

Steeper vs. cheaper: Linen clutch with gold accents

Gold linen clutch

The neutral color of this linen clutch with gold trim and accents would look great paired with a simple, white sundress, or a mimosa colored cocktail dress. Wear with earth tones to complete a clean look, or match with eye-popping color and let your clothes speak for themselves.

Although these two are not identical, the chain is removable on the clutch on the right making them both fairly similar at first glance — yet their prices tell another story.

The clutch on the right is $68 from White House Black Market, while the one on the right is a part of the new, beach-inspired collection by Felix Ray for Target and costs only $29.99.

Still lusting after the steeper version? Use coupon code 8440 at the White House Black Market Web site checkout before June 7 to get 10 percent off your next purchase.
