permalink The new job, current condo search and upcoming issue of Facets are keeping me too busy to keep up with all my favorite Tumblrs, and I miss yous.
Anyboowho, I wore this to the office yesterday, and thought of it as a great ensem made up of old and new items. I’ve had the skirt, boots and tights for about three years, and the chambray top for about three days.
Several of you commented on my nude nail polish yesterday, and I must say how much of a welcome change it is from dark winter colors. Wearing a skirt and tights in 11 degree weather probably wasn’t the best idea though, but fashion over function, I always say.
That was a joke, you should see me at home.
Wearing:
Chambray button-up—Old Navy, $30
Brown geode necklace—vintage sale, $10
Wool-blend pleated straight skirt—Gap, $40
Brown carry-all—Forever 21, $30
Nude nail polish—FACE Stockholm for J.Crew, gift from Tumblr Buddy
Nude patterned tights—Kohl’s, $? (had forever)
Brown buckled boots—OneStopPlus.com, $70
ETA: Side note 1 - I think I looked less girl-scout in person. Side note 2 - I did just order a box of Samoas. Mmm.

permalink Since I have a new job that requires me to go into the office again, prepare for more outfit posts! Although I can’t wear pajamas every day anymore, which was my work from home uniform, I really love playing dress up again.
And a no-denim dress code means this jeggings addict is going to have to get a little creative. Here’s what I sported to the office on my first full day. I even got a compliment from a new co-worker on the color of my pants! Another plus? Free coffee every morning. I think I’ll like it here.
Wearing:
White button-up—Old Navy, $20
Tan sweater vest with double leather buckle—H&M, $17
Rust-colored skinny cardigans—Gap, $50
Owl ring (and a no-chip mani!)—Avenue, $5
Camel-colored cross-body bag—Shock Boutique, $40 (seen here)
Brown ankle boots—Urban Outfitters, gifted

permalink Well, hello! Haven’t seen one of these in awhile, have you? My lack of outfit posts is due to the fact I’ve been working from home a lot, working at night a lot and completely ran out of effs to give about looking decent while doing so.

Black and tan striped top—H&M, $13
Rose-colored nail polish—Island Hopping by Essie, $8
Geode necklace—courtesy of Jaclyn Anthony Designs
Owl ring—Avenue, $5
Denim jeggings—Old Navy, $35 (but always on sale!)
Black briefcase bag—Nine West from TJMaxx, $35
Black basic pumps—Payless, $? (bought when I was an intern three years ago!)
P.S. - Brad tells me I look like Charlie Brown in this shirt. Who asked him?

permalink Feminine, romantic, sheer, blush-colored - I wear this top at least every week. Look familiar, co-workers? No shame here. I love this thing.
Although I adore the sheer material, the right undergarment pairings are so important in pulling off the look. I wear a white lace tank with a nude strapless bra, which is key so only one strap is visible.
I used to throw major side eye at strapless bras—until I found a great brand. My fellow bigger-chested ladies, check out the Self Expressions brand from Target (only $14!), which has super supportive cups that don’t need to be pulled up every five minutes.
Wearing:
Pearl studs—Target, $18
Sheer blush-colored tie-neck blouse—H&M, $40
White lace tank—Walmart, $7
Cropped denim jeggings—Old Navy, $25
Nude kitten heels—Kohl’s, $4.50 (with gift card and coupon)
Bonus? This entire outfit cost less than $100.

permalink Scarves, long-sleeve button-up shirts, floor-length jeans—all things worn during cooler weather, which Chicago has had plenty of lately.
The only thing that distinguishes this outfit from something I would have worn in the fall is the bright color of the wedges and obnoxious color of my toenails. Both make their debut come supposed warm-weathered months.

permalink Talk about a pop of color.
I picked up the bright scarf from this adorable little shop in Barrington, Ill. I stopped at with my mom on Mother’s Day last weekend - Charming Charlie. OMG THIS PLACE. As we walked in the door, I took a quick glance around the store and heard angels singing. I wanted to fall to my knees and cry at how beautiful it was.
The shop sells women’s fashion accessories at fantastic prices. Jewelry and scarves were around $15, handbags around $35, and all of great quality. They organize it neatly by color so it’s easy to pick out jewelry to match a dress you already have but want to pair with accessories. My heaven, I tell you.
Have you been to one of their locations? Coincidentally, I read in last weekend’s Trib that Chicago plans to open six more locations this year, including one on North Michicagn Ave. Run, don’t walk.
Wearing:
Tangerine pashmina scarf—Charming Charlie, $15
Striped lace top—Daisy Fuentes for Kohl’s, $24 (also seen here)

Cropped denim jeggings—Old Navy, $25
Black peep toe wedges—Payless, $15 (bought years ago)
Nail polish—ULTA’s Peach Parfait (similar to Essie’s Tart Deco)

permalink I’ve been obsessed with the new TLC show “Extreme Couponing” lately, and as a long-time bargain lover, it inspired me to go out in search of some may-jer deals of my own.
Last Friday after work I began by searching through my wallet for any old gift cards I’d forgotten about, and lo and behold I found an unused gift card to Kohl’s from Christmas.
Armed with my gift card and a 15 percent off coupon I found sifting through my mom’s mail (no shame, they do it on the show like it’s their job, and it often is), I set out for Kohl’s with a special pair of shoes in mind I had tried on during a previous shopping trip but put back on the shelf.
Bee-lining to the shoe section, I found them again: a nude pair of kitten heels so perfect for spring and comfortable enough to wear anywhere. They had one left in my size. It was rationalization fate.
After using my gift card and coupon during checkout, I ended up paying less than $5 for the pair, which cost nearly $55 at normal price. Extreme, indeed.
Wearing:
Navy military jacket—Target, $35 (worn last week)

Honeysuckle purse—Charlotte Russe, $25 (seen here)
Cropped paint-splattered khakis—Gap, $11
Nude kitten heels—Kohl’s, $4.50 (with gift card and coupon)
