Remembering 2011 in all its glory
I am SO proud of what Facets became in 2011!
- January - Brittany Abeijon pulled the rest of the Facets founders together (Tom Salek, Rachel Kosmal, Lynn W. Conway and Jay Harvey), and together they began to create the groundwork for The Facets Magazine.
- February - Became a little more legit by purchasing our domain, thefacetsmag.com!
- April - Began to interview additional writers and graphic designers, and added some wonderfully talented people to our staff.
- May - Spent Memorial Day doing our first photo shoot on the beautiful beaches of Lake Michigan.
- August - Released issue one Aug. 1! Immediately popped open champagne.
- September - With the help of our friends at Booth25 Events, we hosted the official Facets launch party at District Bar in Chicago, and met so many great new friends and supporters from around the city.
- October - Redesigned our website to add social portlets, and released issue two covering Oct/Nov.
- December - Held a contest to donate money to FirstBook.org to help end illiteracy, and released issue three covering Dec/Jan.
What a truly glorious year it was. We can only be optimistic about the future of Facets for the new year ahead!
